Wondering how to get FYI on your device? Look no further.
First, you will have to ensure that you have a device that is compatible with FYI. Check out our article on FYI-compatible devices here.
Now that you have determined whether your device is compatible, you can continue to download FYI from the Apple App Store.
Once FYI is downloaded, open the app and you'll be prompted with a screen to enter your phone number.
You will then receive an OTP (one time passcode) sent to you via SMS message.
Enter the OTP code.
You will be asked to add a profile picture and your display name followed by adding any contacts you might have. You can skip this step.
To install FYI on your Android device, you will need to make sure your device is supported and you will need a valid phone number (Note: 32-bit Android devices are not supported).
To check your device's compatibility, open the Google Play Store and search for FYI.me. Underneath the app's details, click the "About this app" button.
Scroll all the way down to the "Compatibility for your active devices" section. Next to the field "Compatibility", the Google Play Store will tell you if FYI works on your device.
If your device is supported, go back to FYI's app page and click "Install".
Once the app is installed, open FYI. You will be prompted to enter your phone number. When you've submitted your phone number, you'll receive a text via SMS with an OTP (one time passcode).
Enter the OTP and you will be prompted to enter your account details such as your name and profile picture. If you do not already have an account, you can enter your name and choose a profile picture. If you do already have an account, your information will be autofilled.
Next, you will be prompted to add contacts. You can skip this step if you'd like.
When you are shown your encryption key, be sure to save it to your device. If you need to log in to FYI on another device, you will be prompted to scan or import this encryption key, so it's important to save it as soon as possible!
You can also view and save your encryption key in Settings > Security.
