How to send Media in Chats

Send Image(s) and Video(s)

(I) Send an image from your Camera

1. Open the Chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner
3. Select the 'Camera' option.  
4. Take a photo with your front or back camera. 
5. After taking the photo, you will be prompted to a preview screen where you're able to either retake or use the current photo.
6. When sending a photo, you can choose between the original or a compressed version.
7. You’ll also have the option to add a caption to the photo.
8. Press on the send (↑) icon to send. 

(II) Send an image from your Media Gallery

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner
3. Select 'Media Gallery'.
4. Select photos up to 8 Images.
5. Press 'Add' on the top-right corner of the screen to confirm.
6. When sending photos, you can choose between the original or a compressed version.
7. You’ll also have the option to add a caption to the photos.
8. Press on the send (↑) icon to send. 

(III) Send an image from your Files

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner
3. Select 'Media Gallery'.
4. Press 'Documents' and select the desired file.
5. Once selected, you’ll also have the option to add a caption.
6. Press on the send (↑) icon to send. 

Send Document(s)

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner
3. Press 'Documents' and select the desired file.
4. Once selected, you’ll also have the option to add a caption.
5. Press on the send (↑) icon to send.

Sending Audio(s)

(I) Send audio files in chat:

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner
3. Select 'Media Gallery'.
4. Press 'Documents' and select the desired file.
5. Select the MP3 file.
6. Once selected, you'll be taken to a new screen where you can add a title, artist name, and cover photo. You can also preview the audio and include a message to send with the MP3.
7. Press on the send (↑) icon to send. 

Send a Location

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner
3. Select 'Location'.
4. You will be directed to either Apple Maps for iOS devices or OpenStreet for Android devices.
5. Press on a location in the map or enter an address in the search bar. 
6. Pin the location and press 'Select' which will automatically send in a chat. 

Note: You should be able to open and view the location you sent in a Google Map URL, within FYI.

Send a GIF

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner.
3. Tap 'Giphy'.
4. Select or Search for a GIF that will automatically send in the chat.

Send a Voice Note

1. Open a chat.
2. Long-press on the Mic icon at the bottom-right of the screen. 
3. Press and hold the record icon to start recording a voice message. Release your finger to stop. To cancel the recording, swipe left while still holding down.
4. You can listen to the voice note by clicking the play (▶) icon OR delete the voice note by pressing the red trash icon. 
5. Once ready to send, press the send (↑) icon. 

Send a Contact Card

1. Open a chat.
2. Press on the add (+) icon at the bottom-left corner.
3. Select 'Contact'.
4. Choose a Contact you would like to share. Once selected, the contact card will be automatically sent in the chat. 

Note: A contact card contains a contact's name, profile picture, and phone number. You’ll see options to send a message or make a call. Opening the contact card will take you to the contact’s detail screen.
